| I have so enjoyed creating this lovely website, one that many people all over the world are finding incredibly useful and helpful. I have made so many friends - professional dressmakers, home dressmakers and dress designers alike that I spend many hours until the wee hours each night receiving and sending emails. My poor husband thinks I prefer my internet generated relationships than our married one ... well not really! I have always wanted to try and maintain a free website, it felt so good to be doing something for others and even though many people over the past two years have pleaded with me to accept donations so I could buy extra data transfer I have always resisted. Until recently I preferred to have the site going down and remaining free than to ask for donations which would ultimately keep Colleens' of Canberra online for a longer period of time and become more available to all. During August 2004 a very kind Irish dancing person purchased on my behalf my own domain and I thought for a wee period of time that all was going to be well. Unfortunately things didn't quite work out as either of us had anticipated and in the end I chose to upgrade my site and pay for this myself. I am still most grateful of that persons incredibly generous gift. However, with ongoing expenses I have decided now to accept donations. I will keep note here of all those who donate. Thank you all very much for your continued support. Keep sending in those photos!!! |
